WHAT IS FEELING OF REJECTION?
REJECTION IS A NEGATIVE WORD. IT ARISES DUE TO LOW CONFIDENCE. CONFIDENCE LEVEL IS LOWERED DOWN WHEN YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING INDEPENDENTLY. IT ALSO ARISES WHEN YOUR RIGHTS ARE DENIED. REJECTION IS A FEELING WHEN YOU FEEL SAD ABOUT YOUR SITUATION BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT PRIVILEGED AS OTHERS ARE IN YOUR SURROUNDINGS. ITS A MINDSET WHEN YOU KNOW THAT CERTAIN THINGS AND BENEFITS ARE NOT FOR YOU AND SUBCONSCIOUSLY YOU HAVE ACCEPTED THIS FACT.
BUT WHO GIVES US FEELING OF REJECTION?
It is sad to know that feeling of rejection is given by our own family, by our society, by our friends. Sometimes parents are not able to make a balance among their kids’ emotions. They always try to convince only one child to adjust and always give priority to another child. So the one who always adjust gets into this habit of suppressing his/her feelings and always ready to sacrifice. The child feels that he/she is not supposed to demand and make choices according to his/her wish. He feels that he has no priorities in his life and he has no right to speak for his feelings, emotions, and desires because no one will listen to him. This feeling also arises due to the social environment and our interaction with it. If a child faces discrimination based on caste, race, color, economic status, and religion, this feeling of social rejection develops. Therefore people from lower caste and poor society are less demanding for their rights. They are less confident and more adjusting as compared to others. The feeling of rejection may also develop during our schooling and primary education period. Teachers are our ideals and role models. We keep them at a special place in our hearts. Students give them preference even before their parents. But when a teacher does discrimination based on scores and academic performance among students, it’s pinching. And then an average student feels rejected. That student feels that lectures in the class are not for him/her but they are only for cream students. This feeling makes him/her to be less attentive in the class eventually his performance deteriorated day by day. Also among friends, this happens. We like one of our friends more than others. Sometimes a girl or boy is the most favorite in a group or class. So we want their attention and want to become a favorite like him/her. When we don’t receive the same attention even from our best friend, we feel rejected as well as jealous.?WHY JEALOUSY IS HARMFUL FOR HUMANS?
HOW THE FEELING OF REJECTION AFFECTS US?
The feeling of REJECTION changes our perception of our life and this world. It hampers the way we look at ourselves and others. This feeling germinates mostly in our childhood due to any reason described above. This feeling grows with us. And it resides in our subconscious mind. So wherever we go, whomever we meet, we feel rejected even without any real rejection. We ourselves start rejecting things, friends, rewards, and any privilege given to us. We can’t believe that we can achieve and receive honors, rewards, love, preferences, and happiness in life. Because we believe that we have no right to these things. Even we reject to become happy and successful because of this false perception. And the saddest part of this is we don’t know that we are living with this false notion. Therefore it is very important to realize this and change our perception towards life and people.
BEING A PARENT, A TEACHER AND A HUMAN BEING IT IS OUR DUTY TO GIVE EQUAL LOVE AND COMPASSION TO OUR CHILDREN, STUDENTS AND OUR FRIEND. WE ALL HAVE OUR FAVORITES BUT IF OUR BEHAVIOUR HAS BECOME A REASON FOR SOMEONE’S DISTRESS, WE MUST TAKE CARE OF IT. ATLEAST WE CAN TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR KIDS AND STUDENTS.
